Tesla Model S Plaid Said to Feature ‘Going to Plaid’ Animation [VIDEO]
With Tesla’s Model S Plaid delivery event set for June 3, talk of the long-anticipated electric vehicle (EV) is heating up, and a new animation just added to the excitement.
According to a source familiar with the matter, Tesla’s Model S Plaid will reportedly feature a “going to plaid” animation during acceleration launches, as reported by Tesla Owners Online.
The mode appears as an animation in a sort of plaid warp space, and will supposedly appear whenever the Model S Plaid enters “launch mode” or accelerates quickly to arrive at 60 mph.

It was also recently noticed that the Tesla Model S Plaid will now offer ebony and carbon fiber interior trim options, on top of being able to seat seven people, and later being called the company’s “best car ever” by CEO Elon Musk.
Despite pausing Model S Plaid+ orders in recent weeks due to high levels of demand, Tesla’s upcoming base-level Model S Plaid delivery event is set for June 3. The luxury vehicle has already been spotted on Laguna Seca Raceway, sporting an adjustable rear wing.
The “Plaid Mode” feature can be seen briefly in this Tesla Roadster test drive, during acceleration from 0-60 mph, and is expected to be the same in the upcoming Model S Plaid:
