Tesla Home HVAC System with HEPA Filter on ‘Future Product List’, Says Musk

Tesla has home HVAC with a HEPA filter on its “future product list” said CEO @Elon Musk in a tweet on Monday.

The tweet came in response to another user asking Tesla to make the product, due to allergies being really bad.

Musk also notes that it could be a crucial upgrade in places where there is a high pollen count.

In the tweet regarding the prospect of making home HVAC with a HEPA filter, @Musk wrote, “It’s on the future product list. Especially important in places like Austin, which has next-level amounts of pollen in the air.”

Tesla’s Model Y offers a HEPA filter in its HVAC system, and the automaker said it would offer HEPA retrofit kits for some vehicles last year.

The layered HEPA filtration system can be seen in pictures inside the Tesla Model Y, and the company has also referred to the potential for a “bioweapon defense mode” option using the system.

The Tesla Model Y’s frunk area has had 27 separate revisions since it launched, as explained in a recent video from the team at Munro & Associates.

In January, Tesla shared a Model Y video showing off the bioweapon defense mode against red smoke grenades.

If they do bring this to market, pairing it with smart AC controllers would be a natural fit. Smart AC controllers could optimize the performance of such a system, allowing users to monitor air quality and adjust settings remotely for maximum efficiency. This combination could really set a new standard for home comfort and energy savings, making it easier for homeowners to maintain a healthy indoor environment. I’m looking forward to seeing how this concept evolves!
