Tesla V11 Software Features Compared: Model S, Model 3, Model X, Model Y [CHART]
Tesla’s 2021 holiday software update started rolling out with firmware version 2021.44.25 (and beyond) earlier this week, bringing V11.0 of the User Interface (UI) and in-car software, new features like ‘Light Show’ and ‘Dark Mode’, and some holiday cheer.
The new V11.0 UI gives a fresh new look to the in-car interface, carrying over design elements from the UI on the latest iterations of the Model S and Model X as well as quality of live improvements like a customizable app launcher, simplified controls, better navigation, and more.
However, not every Tesla is getting all of the features from the 2021+ model year Model S and Model X.
As part of a recent blog post, Tesla explained which cars will be getting which features in the chart below:
Some of the new features which are coming to all Model 3s and Model Ys, such as Waypoint Editing, Subwoofer Tunability, and games like Sudoku, will only make their way to Model S and Model X units with an Intel Atom processor onboard.
The Model 3 and Model Y will be getting almost all of the features from the new Model S and Model X as part of the update, apart from Autopilot Comfort Damping. The feature will still be pushed to legacy Model S and Model X units with Adaptive Suspension, though.
V11.0 also brings the fan-favorite Sonic the Hedgehog game to Tesla Arcade, as promised by Tesla CEO Elon Musk earlier this month. Sonic the Hedgehog is now available on the 2021+ Model S, 2021+ Model X, Model 3, Model Y, and legacy Model S and Model X with an Intel Atom processor.
Tesla also expanded its Sentry Mode Live Camera feature to Canada and Europe, seeing the option go beyond the U.S. after launching in the latter back in October. Cars with Pedestrian Warning Speakers also get a new Boombox Megaphone feature, to let you talk to people outside your car.
Legacy Model S and Model X units will not be getting Light Show, the new simplified controls, Blind Spot Camera for easier turns, Sentry Mode Live Camera Access, Car Wash Mode, and Auto Seat Heaters.
