Tesla Gigafactory Texas Construction Update: Day 394 [4K VIDEO]
Jeff Roberts, who has closely followed construction on Tesla’s Gigafactory in Austin since the electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer broke ground on the massive project, recently published yet another update for the site on YouTube, covering day 394 of construction.
This week was busier than most at the 2,481-acre Gigafactory site, located in southeastern Travis County at Harold Green Road and Texas 130. The 4K drone footage showcases discernible progress all across the facility.
Unfortunately, there’s still no sign of Model Y units from the initial test production that was reported to begin earlier this month.
In addition, there appear to be delays on the cathode area due to some lithium issues. The construction crew has started working on a clearing to deal with those issues, though.
The Texas Gigafactory officially broke 8 million square feet of construction earlier in the month. According to Tesla CEO Elon Musk, the facility will span “almost a mile long” once it is fully constructed and operational.
Once the facility is running on all cylinders, Gigafactory Texas will be producing Tesla’s long-anticipated Cybertruck, in addition to batteries and the company’s other EVs.
