Elon Musk Praises Tesla Cybertruck Design: ‘Made by Aliens from the Future’

Tesla CEO Elon Musk today responded to a tweet from The Truth About Cars and the latter’s opinion piece citing how the upcoming Cybertruck would be the company’s “first flop”.

Musk replied, “to be frank, there is always some chance that Cybertruck will flop, because it is so unlike anything else.”

“I don’t care. I love it so much even if others don’t. Other trucks look like copies of the same thing, but Cybertruck looks like it was made by aliens from the future,” said Musk.

As for the final design of Tesla’s Cybertruck, Musk added, “In end, we kept production design almost exactly same as show car. Just some small tweaks here & there to make it slightly better.”

Musk detailed the Cybertruck’s lack of door handles to say, “no door handles. Car recognizes you & opens door.”

He also said “having all four wheels steer is amazing for nimble handling & tight turns!”.

So far, there appears to have been over 1.2 million Cybertruck reservations made, but for now, the truck still has yet to hit production. There are lots of traditional auto electric trucks coming out soon, such as the F-150 Lightning and GMC Hummer, plus trucks from Rivian, adding to competition for the Cybertruck.

I think it’s safe to not bet against Musk at this point, as so far Tesla has been firing on all cylinders, especially setting a record number of deliveries for its recent Q2. When new Gigafactories open in Austin, Texas and Berlin, Germany, that’s when we’ll see the true strength of the company’s production prowess on a global scale.
