There really is no questioning how fast the Tesla Model S Plaid is at this point with its varied acceleration modes and impressive speeds, and according to a new video shared on YouTube, the vehicle is still not done breaking acceleration records.

On Saturday, one Tesla Model S Plaid driver set a new world record for the Tesla Model S Plaid, achieving an impressive 9.08-second 1/4-mile at the aptly-named St. Louis, Missouri World Wide Technology Raceway, according to video footage from iSmell Butthurt. The footage shows the Model S Plaid beating the previous 1/4-mile world record of 9.24 seconds in a straight acceleration down the roadway.

The broken record has also been attempted before, with Bobby Weisblat trying to break the record earlier this month, and to no avail, achieving a 9.248-second run in its best attempt to top the earlier record, set by Jay Leno.

Tesla’s Model S Plaid was only released earlier this month at the company’s Plaid Delivery Event, and the electric vehicle (EV) has largely only received rave reviews ever since.

Weighing even less than this year’s Model S refresh, the Tesla Model S Plaid also boasts a 1.98-second 0 to 60 speed in addition to its newly-broken unofficial 1/4-mile record time, which can be seen below. It’s only a matter of time before the Model S Plaid breaks a 9 second 1/4 mile.
