Tesla has started pushing FSD (Supervised) v14.2 Lite to Hardware 3 Model S and Model X vehicles, marking the first time the flagship sedan and SUV have received any v14 software.
Zack shared the news Tuesday, posting a photo from an owner in China showing the update installed on a Model S. The center screen shows release notes for software version 2026.27.10. Other owners have reported the build arriving on Hardware 3 vehicles as well.
The release notes describe a slimmed-down port of the newer stack. Tesla says engineers compressed the Hardware 4 based FSD v14 into a compact version that fits on Hardware 3, running 30 percent faster than the previous Hardware 3 version while keeping the core driving behavior of v14.
Flagship owners have been waiting for this since summer. Tesla first brought FSD v14 Lite to older Hardware 3 vehicles in June, then expanded the rollout across the US and Canada beyond early testers in July, but Model S and X sat out both waves. Earlier this month, a rumor suggested a v14 Lite build for Model S and X could land soon.
The delay reflects how far behind Hardware 3 had fallen. These cars have been capped at FSD 12.x for years while newer hardware moved through v13 to v14, making this the first v14 build of any kind to reach the older Model S and X. A recent comparison of Hardware 3 and Hardware 4 showed how wide that gap had grown.
With the first installs confirmed, the release should widen to more Hardware 3 Model S and X vehicles in the coming days. Owners still waiting will want to watch their software tab, since Tesla usually expands these rollouts in waves once early installs look stable.
