“For my @Tesla friends – and specifically Model S & X owners with HW3 who are waiting on FSD v14 Lite – I spoke to @aelluswamy at the Cybercab launch, & when I asked for an ETA on v14 Lite for S/X owners, he said, ‘Oh, I thought it was supposed to go out last week,’” McCaffrey wrote under his DMC_Ryan account. “So: soon!” The quote is McCaffrey’s recollection of a hallway-style conversation, not a Tesla blog post, software-release note, or official X statement from Tesla or Elluswamy’s own account.
Hardware 3 Model 3 and Model Y cars have already been on FSD Supervised v14.1 Lite in recent software lines, while Hardware 4 owners have been further ahead on the v14.x supervised stack. S and X owners still on HW3 have been the holdouts waiting for that Lite path, which is why Elluswamy’s reported “last week” comment landed as a near-term signal even though it is secondhand and unverified.
Tesla has not confirmed a ship date for S/X v14 Lite in a release, so treat the tip as rumor until cars actually pull the update or Tesla posts it. If the build does land in the next wave, it would close a long Hardware 3 gap on the older flagships and sit alongside other September FSD notes on the site, including Slovenia’s supervised approval as a sixth EU market.
