First Tesla Model Y Cars in Midnight Cherry Red Spotted at Showrooms in Germany

The first Tesla Model Y units in the company’s new Midnight Cherry Red colourway have landed at a Tesla service center and showroom in Ottersberg, Germany, as seen in images shared on Twitter by @TeslaBremen.

The same units were previously also spotted by @Berlinergy.

Midnight Cherry Red is one of two new Model Y colors Tesla launched last year out of Gigafactory Berlin, the other being Quicksilver. Tesla describes MCR as “an intense metallic color with dramatic depth that transforms with the light,” and we can see in the images above how light interacts with the new paint job.

Midnight Cherry Red is only available for Model Y units produced at Tesla’s German Gigafactory and costs an additional 3,200 euros ($3446.10 USD). Earlier this year, Tesla started offering the MCR Model Y to European customers with an estimated delivery date of June-August 2023.

With the first units being spotted in the wild at Tesla showrooms, it looks like the company is preparing to start handing over deliveries to the earliest customers. The Quicksilver color option from Giga Berlin, meanwhile, already hit showrooms back in December of last year.
