Tesla Model Y and Model X Delivery Estimates Get Pushed Back in the U.S.

Tesla has changed its U.S. estimated delivery times for its Model Y crossover on Wednesday, as spotted by @Tslachan.

Now, Tesla’s 5-seater Model Y units are showing estimated delivery from March to May, previously showing a range of February to March. The 7-seater Model Y has changed to estimated deliveries taking place from April to June, previously showing March to April.

The Tesla Model X Long Range also saw its delivery timeline change, now showing estimated deliveries to arrive between March and May of this year, up from previous estimates showing delivery from February to March. The Model X is built at Tesla’s Fremont factory in California.

The Model Y is produced at Fremont, while also at the company’s newest Gigafactory in Austin, Texas.

The news comes following Tesla’s price cuts in markets around the world, which has caused increased demand in recent weeks. Subsequently, delivery times on the Model Y in China especially have been increasing in recent weeks.

Following the price cuts, the Tesla Model Y surged to become the second-most searched vehicle on Edmunds, and the automaker has stated plans to increase Giga Shanghai’s production output to help meet the increased demand.
