Tesla has officially closed the book on its high-end Model X Signature Edition. The luxury electric SUV, which carries a price tag of $159,420 US, is now completely sold out.
Customers looking to get their hands on this limited edition end-of-life version are officially out of luck as Tesla has stopped accepting new reservations for the SUV. However, buyers still have a narrow window to secure a piece of Tesla history, as the Model S Signature Edition remains available for order.
According to an email invite sent to potential buyers, this limited release was designed to honour the legacy of the original Model S and Model X, which “marked the beginning of the world’s transition to electric transportation.” The company noted that the Signature Edition was intended to make way for “what’s next” in the Tesla lineup, as the production lines are being converted to manufacture Optimus humanoid robots.
While the Model X version is no longer available, the sell-out marks a major milestone for Tesla as it shifts focus to filling the remaining order backlog for these final 350 units. Both models come finished in an exclusive Garnet Red paint with gold accents and a numbered dash plaque.
This limited edition model comes packed with premium upgrades, including a 1,020 horsepower Plaid powertrain and free lifetime Supercharging. With Model X reservations now closed, the focus turns to the final remaining Model S units before production of these flagship vehicles ends for good.
