Tesla Boosts Insurance Incentive on November Purchases in China

Tesla is increasing incentive amounts for buyers that opt into its insurance program in China, and the move is expected to help boost the automaker’s sales before the final month of the year.

Now, Tesla is offering boosted insurance incentives on all orders made before November 30, according to the company’s latest post from its Weibo social network handle on Tuesday.

The insurance incentive now offers 8,000 yuan ($1,106 USD) on orders made before the end of November with Tesla’s insurance partners, with the incentive dropping to just 4,000 yuan ($553 USD) for December orders.

In the past, Tesla was offering just 7,000 yuan ($968 USD) for orders between October 1 and December 31.

“Tesla’s limited-time car insurance subsidy program has been launched, affordable, one-step!”, says the post translated by Google.

“From November 8 (inclusive) to November 30 (inclusive), if you purchase a combination of existing car and cooperative insurance agency auto insurance and complete the car pickup on time, the final payment can be reduced by 8,000 yuan; from December 1 (inclusive) to December 31 (inclusive) Including), the balance can be reduced by 4,000 yuan,” says Tesla.

“As long as you like it enough, take away the Tesla immediately!” said the announcement on Weibo.

The incentive comes in the form of a cash rebate when Tesla buyers pair the purchase with its insurance programs.

The news comes just after Tesla’s appearance at the China International Import Expo was a popular attraction, with the automaker also unveiling the Model S Plaid and Model X Plaid at the conference last week.

Tesla delivered 72,000 vehicles in China in October, just weeks after selling a record 83,135 vehicles built at its Giga Shanghai in September.
