Tesla Lowers Price on Giga Texas Belt Buckle Accessory

After the initial wave of Tesla’s Giga Texas Belt Buckle orders were delivered last December, the company has lowered the price of the merch item on its website.

Tesla has lowered the price of its Giga Texas Belt Buckles in its merch store from its previous price of $150 to now only $100 (via @SawyerMerritt).

The belt buckle features Tesla’s logo in the center of a Texas-style Lone Star, and it’s made to fit belt straps up to two inches thick.

According to the product description, Tesla’s belt buckles are made from die-cast zinc, before being engraved upon and brushed with an antique silver finish.

The belt buckles were launched ahead of Tesla’s opening of Gigafactory Texas, and also the same month the automaker officially dubbed Austin its new headquarters.

Tesla faced opposition from environmental groups in Texas in March, with the groups questioning the automaker’s concern for local issues such as noise, traffic, dust and water pollution from the factory.

However, Tesla also managed to get approved to hold a grand opening event the same month, and the factory is now fully operational.

New filings show that Tesla is expanding Giga Texas, set to branch out into plots of land to the factory’s east.
