Tesla Subwoofer Controls Easter Egg [VIDEO]
Reddit user rubiksman has found a pretty sneaky little Easter egg Tesla stashed away in the new ‘Subwoofer Tunability’ feature that was introduced with software V11.0, which started rolling out with firmware update 2021.44.25.2 (and beyond) earlier this week.
Subwoofer Tunability gives you more precise control over the audio output from your subwoofer, allowing you to get fuller, punchier sound out of it. The update also makes some improvements to Immersive Sound.
The 2019 Model 3 AWD owner found that if you turn the Bass slider all the way up to 8.0 and then max out the Sub slider, the output level label for the latter is replaced with something random and quirky or a pop culture reference.
Check out the Easter egg in the video below, courtesy of u/rubiksman:
By the looks of it, the Easter egg randomly cycles through the following labels every time you max out the Sub slider :
- 9001.0 — It’s over 9,000!
- SLAPPIN
- WUB-WUB — Pretty self-explanatory. After all, who doesn’t like a little wub-wub?
- BRRRRRR
- BOOST
- BOOOM
- 11.0
- 6.0 — The default max.
While this one is definitely not as easily noticeable as the Tesla logo Easter egg found in the new Light Show feature that rolled out in the same update, it’s certainly good for invoking some nostalgia or a chuckle or two.
