While the Tesla Model 3 has easily remained the world’s best-selling electric vehicle (EV), not every variant of the car is available in all markets.

However, the long-awaited Tesla Model 3 Long Range All-Wheel Drive variant has now become available for buyers in Germany, according to @Tesla Adri. The release of the LR AWD Model 3 also includes a 2,000 price drop.

The Model 3 units are set to be produced at Tesla’s Gigafactory Shanghai, and though they offer a slightly smaller range than U.S. models (580km vs. 614km for Fremont builds), it’s still an upgrade from previous Model 3 offerings.

In the thread, a number of users speculated that this may be a switch in battery for Tesla’s Model 3s, some positing that the battery could be from LG.

Until Tesla completes its Gigafactory Berlin, located in Grünheide, Germany in the region of Brandenburg, German customers will continue to receive their Teslas from the company’s Shanghai factory, completed last year.

Gigafactory Berlin is set for completion later this year, after a string of regulatory delays and environmental concerns over the production facility’s construction.

Last month, reports held that Tesla may be looking to open its Supercharger network to other automakers, a move that has yet to be replicated in the U.S. or other Tesla markets.
