Tesla Cybercab Launch Event Hits Austin on September 3
Tesla is inviting Tesla influencers to a Cybercab Launch Event on September 3 in Austin.
The official @Tesla account posted a dark, gold-toned graphic with “Exclusive Access,” a jagged Cybercab mark, and 09.03.26 · Austin, TX. There was no caption beyond the image.
Invite emails went out the same night with the header “You’re Invited: Cybercab Launch Event,” using that same Exclusive Access artwork and Austin date line. The drop wasn’t limited to one account. Across X, Tesla creators and influencers started posting the invite, which is how the September 3 date locked in before Tesla spelled out a full guest list or agenda.
Cybercab is Tesla’s purpose-built robotaxi, the stepless two-seater the company has been building toward while Austin Robotaxi service still runs on modified Model Y hardware. Tesla North already covered reporting that Tesla was prepping a public Cybercab launch in Austin, plus the company’s own pitch that Robotaxi riders could win access to a Cybercab launch event. Friday’s influencer invites put a firm calendar date on that Exclusive Access pitch.
Austin is already the center of Tesla’s unsupervised robotaxi push. Pulling creators into an invite-only reveal in the company’s backyard fits the pattern of showing the vehicle to a controlled crowd before a wider rollout. Until Tesla spells out livestream plans or whether paid Cybercab rides start that day, treat September 3 as the launch event date, not a confirmed start of public Cybercab service.
