Tesla Model S Highway Fuel Economy Test Impresses: 320 Miles at 75mph

In a series of tests performed by Car and Driver, Tesla’s Model S Long Range Plus went 320 miles at an average speed of 75 mph, marking the first electric vehicle (EV) that has topped 300 miles for the website.

While the Model S Long Range Plus is no longer an option, it includes a 103.9 kWh battery capacity which is slightly more capacity than past variants included, with the 2018 Model S 100D offering 100 kWh even.

Announced in June 2020 with an Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) range set at 402 miles, Tesla is now preparing for its Model S Long Range, Plaid, and Plaid Plus variants rather than the short-lived Long Range Plus.

More recently, Tesla has focused its Model S efforts on the Model S Plaid, which will see a delivery event on June 3 according to CEO Elon Musk, and the recently-refreshed Model S which began deliveries earlier this year.

One person also spotted a unique, custom-designed convertible Tesla Model S last week in Boston, effectively baffling onlookers and Tesla fans with its one-of-a-kind top-down look.

Thanks to the nature of electric vehicles (EVs) and over-the-air (OTA) updates, Tesla has actually managed to increase the range of some of its vehicles, including the Model 3 Long Range All-Wheel-Drive, which recently saw increased ranges in both the European and Australian markets.
