This Tesla Model S Just Surpassed 1.3 Million Electric Kilometers Driven

After German Tesla enthusiast drove 745,645 miles (1.2 million km) and was congratulated by Tesla CEO Elon Musk, the 2014 Model S owner is, amazingly, still not done yet.

Hansjörg von Gemmingen-Hornberg has now driven his 2014 Tesla Model S P85 a total of 807,782 miles (1.3 million km), according to Teslamag.

Gemmingen-Hornberg announced the news on Sunday, along with a tweet displaying the odometer’s new reading, which adds another 100,000 kilometers since the congratulations from Musk.

That’s a lot of guilt-free miles driven without producing any carbon emissions.

While the Model S was originally from 2014, recent Tesla Model S units have gone through quite a bit of change since. Last month, newly-refreshed Model S units were seen at the company’s Fremont factory, as they were prepared for delivery across the US.

If the units have any hope of living up to that of Gemmingen-Hornberg’s legendary 2014 unit, then hopefully we’ll see these copies breaking records and receiving congrats tweets from Musk in 2028.

Tesla’s 2021 Model S features a yoke steering wheel option with force touch and touch screen shifting, as well as new interior and exterior updates, and an improved infotainment center. Tesla recently increased the price of infotainment center upgrades, while many await the company’s highly-anticipated Model S Plaid variant, an ultra-performance option set to release later this year.
