With Tesla Giga Berlin’s battery cell production operations soon to be underway, the company has begun hiring for a Cell Manufacturing Operational Leader, a Cell Shop Senior Leader, and a Manufacturing Engineering Manager, as reported by Teslarati.
Drew Baglino, VP of Technology and Senior Vice President of Power Train and Energy Engineering, posted the jobs on his LinkedIn page on Thursday.
Baglino wrote, “Accelerate the transition to sustainable energy by joining Tesla’s cell manufacturing effort in Berlin, recruiting for leadership positions now.”
Once Tesla has perfected the 4680 tech production & secured raw materials – ON 3 CONTINENTS! – what’s stopping Tesla from 10Xing production? Tesla will have a large mass of people familiar with production & sourcing AND they are attracting the best people motivated by love. WOW!

The job titles posted suggest that the company is looking for those will someday lead the cell production department at the Berlin factory. News of these positions also comes shortly after the announcement of Asian battery suppliers SVolt Energy and CATL beginning new operations in Germany.
While Tesla currently works with both companies, they’re expected to lower their reliance on outside battery suppliers over the next several years as they begin their own cell production plans.
As Tesla begins the process of hiring for making its own 4680 cells at Giga Berlin, we can expect to see the new battery in the upcoming Model Y – expected to be the first German-made Tesla with the new cells as well as a structural battery pack.
