Tesla Giga Berlin Plans Over 600 Onsite EV Charging Stations
Tesla has been building chargers all over the world for its customers, but now it’ll do the same at one of its many homebases.
According to a recent filing for Giga Berlin, as retrieved by Teslarati, Tesla has plans to build over 600 electric vehicle (EV) charging stations onsite. The charging spots, which are set to include 8 Superchargers, will be primarily for use by the company’s employees.

Overseeing Manager of Tesla Berlin Gigafactory Construction Has Left https://t.co/3fJxkx1iKJ

Earlier this month, it was reported that the overseeing manager for Giga Berlin’s construction, Evan Horetsky, had unexpectedly left the company. Whether the departure was due to local criticism or not is currently unclear, though the disruption did not affect the construction site’s progress.
The Berlin factory plans to hire up to 12,000 employees for its initial expansion phase, before expanding that number to as many as 40,000 employees.
Giga Berlin is expected to be fully-functioning and delivering vehicles by summer 2021 – an impressive timeline given that the factory only began construction earlier this year.
As Tesla continues to work with other companies, governments, and organization to improve the world’s charging infrastructure, it only makes sense that the company would do so for its own employees – many of which likely have their own EV and require charging just like other Tesla customers.
