Tesla confirmed Monday, September 14, 2026, that its Cybercab will go on static public display in Beijing and Shanghai later this month, adding venue names and date windows to the Asia tour Tesla North first flagged when Tesla Asia listed Hong Kong, Tokyo, Beijing, and Shanghai together.
In Beijing, the two-seat robotaxi prototype will appear at the Huamao Tesla experience store — the Tesla Experience Center at China Central Place (华贸) — from September 17 through September 27, 2026. In Shanghai, the static exhibit runs September 17 through September 21, 2026, in the north hall on level LG1 at HKRI Taikoo Hui (兴业太古汇). Both stops are display-only: Tesla is not selling the vehicle in China and is not launching commercial Robotaxi service there with these shows.
The Monday announcement, attributed to Tesla’s China channels and reported by outlets including CnEVPost, Gasgoo, and Yicai, fills in the mainland China legs after Tesla’s earlier Asia display slate named the four cities without store-level detail. Hong Kong’s ELEMENTS mall stop and the Japan tour opening in Tokyo Aoyama are already underway as separate public exhibits, while Austin Cybercab operations began in early September on the U.S. Robotaxi side.
Visitors in Beijing get a longer ten-day window than Shanghai’s five-day run, but neither city is framed as a ride-hail pilot. The static Cybercab shows sit alongside Tesla’s broader Asia brand push as the company keeps the purpose-built robotaxi in front of shoppers before any China commercial timeline is set.
