Tesla Asia said Cybercab will go on display this month in Hong Kong, Tokyo, Beijing, and Shanghai, inviting fans to “come experience the future of autonomy” across those four cities days after the purpose-built robotaxi’s Austin launch.
The official regional account posted the four-city lineup on September 3 with a Cybercab photo, tagging Tesla Hong Kong and Tesla Japan in a follow-up. Tesla Hong Kong replied that Cybercab will be on display in Hong Kong soon, while Tesla Japan said the venue and schedule will be announced soon and pointed fans to a sign-up page for updates. Neither regional reply mentioned test rides, Robotaxi bookings, or a commercial service area.
The Asia tour lands as Tesla opens Cybercab public rides in Austin at 5:00 p.m. Central Time on September 4 through the Robotaxi app, after Thursday’s invite-only event at Gigafactory Texas. Paid Robotaxi service there has mainly used unsupervised Model Y vehicles, with Cybercab trips limited to the launch crowd until that Friday window. Tesla’s Cybercab Rider Guide spells out the two-seat, steering-wheel-free cabin and the in-car Stop button riders will use on those trips.
Nothing in the Asia posts says Tesla is selling Cybercabs in those markets or launching Robotaxi operations in Hong Kong, Tokyo, Beijing, or Shanghai. Past Cybercab showcases have been static displays meant to build awareness rather than open a local dispatch pool. Tesla has also posted an interest form for future Cybercab fleet purchasing, mobility hubs, and event collaboration, separate from the Asia display dates still to come.
Exact venues and hours for each city have not been published yet beyond Japan’s promise of a fuller schedule and Hong Kong’s “soon” line. For now, the four-city list is the official Asia-Pacific follow-up to Austin’s public Cybercab debut.
