Tesla Spring Update: What Intel Model 3/Y Owners Get (and Miss Out On)

The Tesla spring update has begun rolling out to Intel-based vehicles, and while the flashiest visual changes are often reserved for newer Ryzen-based cars, legacy Model 3 and Model Y vehicles are receiving a number of functional upgrades in 2026.14.1.

Here are the key features included for Intel-based Tesla vehicles:

New Media and Entertainment Features

  • Music App Queuing: You can now swipe right on tracks in Spotify or Apple Music to add them to your play queue. In Spotify, a swipe left will add or remove a song from your Liked Songs.

  • Pet Mode Enhancements: Dog Mode has been expanded to Pet Mode. You can now choose between a dog, cat, or hedgehog icon to display on the screen and add your pet’s name for a more personal touch.

  • Sketchpad Stickers: The Sketchpad now supports stickers and emojis. Additionally, your sketches can be saved and shared directly through the Tesla Mobile App (requires version 4.55.6 or later).

Navigation and Driving Tools

  • Enhanced Trips in Energy App: The Energy app now allows you to create and manage multiple trips to track consumption across different routes or conditions. You can also quickly access the Trips Card by swiping left on the Media Card.

  • Supercharger Pricing Filter: In the Trip Planner settings, you can now choose to route only to Superchargers where Tesla sets the pricing. This is particularly helpful for owners protecting Free Supercharging credits.

  • Weather Maps Improvements: The map now shows better colour differentiation between rain and snow. You can also view the past hour of weather data to see how conditions have changed along your route.

Safety and Security

  • Dashcam Viewer Extension: Recent Dashcam footage now extends up to 24 hours. You can also save clips to your phone via the Mobile App, which now include details like speed and steering wheel angle.

  • Automatic Software Updates: A new toggle allows your Tesla to automatically install downloaded updates overnight while the vehicle is parked and not in use.

  • Keyboard and Dictation: Your selected keyboard language now automatically sets the language for voice dictation, making it easier to switch between languages on the fly.

What is Missing for Intel Vehicles?

Due to the processing power required for high-end 3D rendering, Intel-based vehicles typically do not receive the Enhanced Parked Visualization (the high-fidelity 3D model of the car while in park) or the “Hey Grok” AI assistant, which are currently appearing on Ryzen-powered models.

This update shows that Tesla is still focused on bringing functional quality of life improvements to the older fleet, even if some of the heavier visual effects are limited by the older hardware.
