Tesla began deploying a software update 2023.2.201 to Model S and X units equipped with HW4 on Tuesday, effectively restoring functionality for its backup camera, Traffic-Aware Cruise Control (TACC) and Navigate on Autopilot (NOA), according to new Model X Plaid owner Jason Clinton.

Clinton shared a video of the view from the new HW4-based backup camera, to which many responded by saying how clear the image was. There is no park assistance available in the Model X Plaid with HW4. The vehicle also lacks ultra-sonic sensors.

The news comes just a few days after The Kilowatts shared footage of the various dashcam angles on an HW4 in an array of clips, as taken on a Model S. It also comes a couple of months after plans for HW4 in Tesla’s upcoming cars leaked, showing that the company was planning to upgrade the vehicles’ cameras.

Tesla also launched its Full Self-Driving (FSD) beta 11.3.1 to regular beta testers as spotted on Tuesday morning by many testers.

The recently deployed FSD beta 11 combines the highway FSD and city-driving Autopilot systems into a single stack, merging city and highway stacks into one.

Tesla’s FSD beta still requires drivers to monitor the road when in use, and the automaker even warns users to exercise “additional caution” when using the system.
