Elon Musk to Speak at 2023 World Government Summit Next Week

Tesla CEO Elon Musk is scheduled to join over 10,000 government officials, policymakers, thought leaders, and experts from across the globe at the 2023 World Government Summit in Dubai next week, according to a report from Gulf News (via Tesmanian).

Held annually, the World Government Summit brings leaders and recognized minds from all over the world together to talk about shaping a better future for humanity. Musk is expected to headline the event this year, with thousands of leaders — including 20 heads of state, 250 ministers, and 80 heads of international, regional, and government organizations — due to attend.

The event will be focused on the issues the world faces today and how to best tackle them. Some of the topics that will be discussed this year include the future of healthcare, economic resilience and connectivity, accelerating development, improving governance, global city planning, and sustainability.

Musk-led Tesla is not only the global frontrunner in the transition to electric vehicles (EVs) but a key player in autonomous driving technology and solar energy too. Through SpaceX, Musk is also advancing the state of space transportation and humanity’s capacity to travel beyond our planet.

This will be Musk’s second time at the WGS. He first attended the summit back in 2017, where he met and talked with the UAE’s Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Chairman of the WGS Organization, Mohammad Abdullah Al Gergawi. The Minister will also participate this year.
