Tesla Showroom, Service Center Coming to Aliso Viejo, California
Tesla plans to open a new showroom and service center at The Commons retail shopping center in Aliso Viejo, California — reports the Orange County Register.
According to the publication, the site received a conditional-use permit in July for remodeling. A Tesla showroom and service center has now been green-lit to replace the Michael’s and Tuesday Morning outlets, as well as part of the Lowe’s, at the location.
Tesla will occupy a total of a whopping 53,000 square feet at The Commons. The space will be divided into a 37,698-square-foot service center a 1,750-square-foot showroom, and a 1,590-square-foot lounge.
ValueRock, the owner of the property, couldn’t provide an opening date for the Tesla facility just yet.
Even though Tesla is reportedly planning to pivot its retail strategy away from showrooms, the automaker continues to invest in new locations.
Aliso Viejo is one of 34 cities that make up California’s Orange County. The planned facility expand Tesla’s retail presence and add another sales and service location to California, which already has the highest number of Tesla locations in the U.S. Tesla is also building a showroom and service center in San Luis Obispo, California.
In addition, Tesla is planning a retail store in Santa Ana Pueblo, New Mexico, the company’s second in the state, to skirt the enduring ban on direct car sales.
