First Quicksilver Tesla Model Y Builds Spotted at Giga Berlin [VIDEO]
Some of Tesla’s first production Model Y units in the new ‘Quicksilver’ paint option have been spotted outside Gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg in a recent 4K drone flyover of the facility that was shared on YouTube by the_wolfpack_berlin.
Quicksilver is one of the two new paint colors Tesla launched last month for Berlin-built Model Ys. It is essentially silver and costs €3,000. The other new paint color is ‘Midnight Cherry Red,’ which costs an additional €3,200. Last month, Tesla offered free upgrades to the new Giga Berlin paint colors to some customers.
According to Tesla, both of these new colorways were developed at Giga Berlin at the facility’s state-of-the-art paint shop. Both new color options are also only available on the Long Range and Performance trims of the Model Y, leaving out the entry-level RWD trim.
The Quicksilver Model Y units that can be seen in the flyover video are Performance builds, judging by their red brake calipers.
We got our first, high-quality look at the new Quicksilver color earlier this week when a Berlin-made Model Y was shown off at the Zurich Auto Show. Now, Tesla appears to be readying the first units of Quicksilver Model Ys for customer deliveries.
