The U.S. automaker had 41,643 registrations in Germany during the 10-month period, followed by other top five OEMs Volkswagen, Hyundai, Audi and Fiat.

German automaker Volkswagen was relatively close behind Tesla with 37,755 BEV registrations and a 12.2-percent market share, while all other automakers included on the list had under 10 percent in BEV market share.

Fellow German luxury automaker Mercedes-Benz had just 17,247 BEV deliveries during the period, marking only a 5.7-percent market share.

Tesla’s total deliveries were comprised of its popular compact crossover SUV, with 24,177 Model Y units and 17,464 Model 3 units delivered. Meanwhile, Volkswagen’s BEVs included the ID.3, ID.4 and ID.5, as well as the VW UP.

The news comes about a month after the Tesla Model Y topped the Volkswagen Golf to become the best-selling car in Germany for the first time.

Tesla also announced plans to offset upcoming incentive cuts in Germany with a bonus compensation package available on all orders until December 31.
