Tesla FSD 10.69.1 Releasing for 1,000 Owners First, Then Possibly to 10,000: Musk

With Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (FSD) beta 10.69.1 update set to roll out on Monday, the automaker’s head has clarified that it will start with a smaller group of testers before rolling out to more.

@Elon Musk tweeted on Monday that Tesla’s FSD beta 10.69.1 will roll out to just 1,000 owners first, then to 10,000 owners “if no major issues.”

Additionally, Musk said that FSD beta 10.69.2 will hopefully go out a week after 10.69.1, also adding that it would be the wide-release beta update.

Many in the thread asked Musk to clarify whether the wide-release beta meant the larger “wide-release” slated to happen by the end of the year, or if it would just be a wider release amongst beta testers.

The news comes just weeks after attacks on Tesla’s FSD system have been widespread on the internet.

Dan O’Dowd, an anti-Tesla Senate Candidate in California, released a campaign video claiming Tesla’s FSD system “mowed down children.” Consumer advocate Ralph Nader also requested Tesla remove FSD software from its cars, saying it was “one of the most dangerous and irresponsible actions by a car company in decades.”

In response to O’Dowd’s video, many Tesla fans and beta testers uploaded FSD tests with child-size mannequins, some of which were even removed from YouTube.

Tesla also requested that YouTube remove O’Dowd’s video of a Tesla hitting a child dummy, saying that the claims weren’t accurate.

Musk said at the ONS 2022 conference in Stavanger, Norway, earlier today, noting he hopes to have a FSD wide release by the end of the year, particularly in the U.S.
