As Tesla continues to expand its presence throughout mainland China, the automaker is also looking to capitalize on the country’s northern regions.

Tesla opened its first store in Inner Mongolia this week, located in Hohhot, according to a report from CnEVPost.

The site remains an important piece of a push to expand throughout Northern China, as stated on Wednesday by the company.

The Hohhot store offers vehicle delivery, inspections, insurance discussion, temporary plate processing and vehicle service.

Additionally, Tesla says the store will help expand the concept of lowering carbon emissions in the region.

Hohhot is considered a crucial central city along the Northern Chinese border region, and it’s also the capital of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region province.

About 257 miles (414 km) from Hohhot, Tesla has a massive delivery center in Beijing, and documents reveal that Tesla is also looking to build a huge design and engineering center in the city.

Tesla also opened its first store in China’s Xinjiang, Shanxi region in December, for which activists criticized the automaker due to human rights violations and forced labor in the predominantly Uyghur Muslim area.

A few months later, Tesla announced that it had built Superchargers across the Shanxi province in China.
