Tesla CEO Elon Musk announced on Twitter last week that Full Self-Driving (FSD) beta 10.4 would start rolling out to consumers Friday, November 5. In another tweet Friday evening, Musk disclosed that the release had to be delayed slightly due to “some late-breaking issues.”

The last thing Tesla wants is a repeat of what happened with FSD beta 10.3 a little less than two weeks ago.

After delaying the launch of beta 10.3 from October 22 to October 24 because the build needed some more work, Tesla actually had to walk the release back the same day it rolled out due to issues related to Autopilot spontaneously turning off and more.

Here’s the new timeline for the launch of beta 10.4:

  • Patch for discovered issues deployed to internal beta vehicles around 3 a.m. on Saturday, November 6.
  • Path tested on internal beta vehicles to confirm issues have been resolved.
  • If testing goes well, Musk says Tesla “may be able to release 10.4″ to external beta testers on Sunday, November 7.

The Tesla CEO also went on to tease the “many good improvements” beta 10.4 brings in his tweet. While you wait for beta 10.4 to drop, take a look at beta 10.3 being put to the test in Canada by a public beta tester from the U.S.
