Tesla Opens Registration for Giga Berlin County Fair Event
Tesla’s upcoming October 9 Gigafactory Berlin event is just around the corner, and the company is already letting users sign up for a chance to visit the new factory.
Pre-registration is now open for Tesla’s October 9 County Fair event at the company’s Gigafactory Berlin, according to a new website for the event (via @Sawyer Merritt).
The event comes amidst the site nearing final German approval, which it needs before it can begin operating as Tesla’s primary production facility for all of Europe.
The event will reportedly let users enjoy “[a] factory tour, visit on-site booths, join various activities and ride along in Model Y.” The registration page continues, “Local food trucks will provide catering during the event.”
The event will reportedly only be open to locals to the Tesla factory from Berlin and the Brandenburg province and will have a maximum capacity of about 3,500 people.

While Tesla buyers in Europe currently receive their electric vehicles (EVs) from the company’s Gigafactory Shanghai, the opening of production for Tesla Gigafactory Berlin will also mark an important milestone for Tesla in an increasingly competitive Chinese market.
Tesla’s Gigafactory Shanghai recently reached a Model Y output of 1,000 cars per day – and it’s not hard to imagine what Tesla could do with many of those if it doesn’t need to ship them to Europe.
