The Tesla Model S Plaid and the Rimac Nevera are the world’s quickest production cars (well, the Model S Plaid is the only one with real sales so far), and in a new video, we can see the two go head-to-head.

On Wednesday, Drag Times released footage of a race between the two quickest production cars and electric vehicles (EVs) in the world, a series of drag races between the Rimac Nevera and the Tesla Model S Plaid.

The Rimac sports 1,914 horsepower, while the Model S Plaid sports just 1,020 horsepower, and it certainly shows in the drag races.

While the Model S Plaid is impressively quick, especially for an EV starting at just $129,990 USD – compared to the Rimac Nevera, which costs $2.45 million USD.

The footage comes just a few days after the Rimac Nevera set the quarter-mile EV record, with a 0 to 60 time of just 1.90 seconds. The Tesla Model S Plaid has shown it can go 0 to 60 in 1.99 seconds time and time again, though the Nevera still has a way of making this thing seem slow.

Still, some of the races are fairly close off the line, and while the Nevera is aptly being called an “EV Hypercar” by some, the difference in performance seems fairly marginal when considering the sheer difference in price between the two.

The Nevera hits the 1/4 mile at 8.6 seconds at 166 mph, while the Model S Plaid hits the 1/4 mile at 9.29 at 151 mph. It’ll be interesting to see how much faster the Model S Plaid can be in the future, if Tesla tweaks software. But looking at the video, the Rimac’s extra horsepower overtakes the Model S Plaid.
