Tesla Job Posting Axes Mention of Responding to Elon Musk’s Twitter Critics
Tesla CEO Elon Musk has been known for posting some seriously funny, informative, and controversial stuff on Twitter in the past.
On Wednesday, after posting a job description which would be tasked with addressing social media escalations for Musk, Tesla has edited the previously-shared “Energy Support Specialist” job to remove any indications of having to fight Twitter fights on Musk’s behalf, according to The Next Web.

In under 24 hours, Tesla changed the job description listed to exclude the original statement, which said the hired professional would need to “address social media escalations directed at the CEO with critical thinking.”
While Musk certainly receives a lot of attention on Twitter, and for good reason due to his variety of jokes, opinions, and space and EV news, Tesla as a whole has received criticism for its cars’ quality control issues, as well as other situations, like allegations of calling for a Bolivian coup or watching Gigafactory Berlin’s construction coming to a grinding halt due to environmental concerns.
The move is admittedly a pretty strange one, though it shouldn’t be too much of a surprise coming from the same company that made the decision to completely dissolve its public relations team. Still, without someone to protect Musk’s reputation on Twitter, maybe it’s time for Tesla to reinstate the public relations department?
