New Tesla Service Center Coming to Santa Monica, California

According to a commercial building permit found and shared to the TMC Forums by user MarcoRP (@MontrealTesla), Tesla has been approved to start work on an existing commercial building located at 1100 Colorado Avenue, Santa Monica, CA, and turn it into a Service Center.

Tesla has already made it clear that the company wants to establish more Service Centers in its home state of California, as well as a couple of other U.S. states. In addition, the Santa Monica Service Center will also further Tesla’s goal of opening a new Service Center every week in 2021.

The permit describes the building in question as being 87,744 sq. feet in size. According to the same document, Tesla will be adding two paint booths, a wash-bay, lifts, and five wall connectors for EV chargers to the Service Center, along with new equipment.

The total value for the work Tesla will be doing on the building, which will include new lighting, furniture, and interior finishes, is cited as $1,380,000 USD.

The addition of two paint booths to the Service Center implies that the facility will be also offering body shop services and cosmetic work on top of traditional vehicle repairs.

Tesla is working on some big plans for its home state and its cities, and this new Service Center only adds to them, yet another boon for sunny Santa Monica.
