Tesla Tells Aussie Owner FSD Lane Hug Fix May Come in Future Update

An Australian Tesla owner says a service visit left him with notes calling Full Self-Driving (Supervised) right-lane hugging a known trait of the current software, after Tesla brought FSD Supervised to Australia and New Zealand earlier this year.

Nate, who posts as @4TESLANZ from Sydney, shared a Service Summary screenshot on Sunday after taking his red Model 3 in. The job line read “Full Self-Driving (Supervised) does not work as expected,” marked Resolved at A$0.00. Tesla North has not independently verified the service record with Tesla.

“Confirmed the customers concern. FSD supervised hugs right lane,” the technician notes say, according to that screenshot. The notes say camera pitch and yaw were within tolerance, that no Driver Assistance System hardware or software faults showed up, that cameras were cleaned because clarity was not at 100 percent, and that the behavior was reproduced in testing.

The closing paragraph is the part Nate flagged for other owners. “This behavior has been observed and validated as a known characteristic of the current FSD software version,” the notes say. “It is not due to misalignment, sensor issues, or environmental interference. This behavior may be adjusted in a future firmware update.”

Tesla has not posted a public reply to Nate’s thread, and Tesla North found no separate Tesla Australia or Tesla statement confirming the wording outside the owner’s screenshot.

FSD Supervised has continued to roll through Australia since the June launch and a later v14.3.3 expansion, while Tesla pushes Canberra on earlier driverless trial rules. Owners watching for the next Down Under build, or shopping for a new Tesla, may treat lane position as something to watch until a firmware note addresses it.

Have you seen right-lane hugging on FSD in Australia, and did service tell you the same thing?
