Tesla Apple CarPlay Hack Now Supports Play Store Games
Polish developer Michał Gapiński (@mikegapinski)’s hacky workaround for bringing Apple CarPlay to Tesla vehicles, dubbed the ‘Tesla Android Project,’ now lets users download and play Android games from the Play Store.
Support for Play Store games is now available on the Tesla Android Project for any Tesla electric vehicle (EV) with Media Control Unit (MCU) 2 or above. “Tesla Android now runs games from the Play Store on any MCU2+ vehicle,” Gapiński said in a tweet.

The official Tesla Android Project Twitter account shared several videos showing off Android games like Angry Birds, Fruit Ninja, and Subway Surfers running on a Tesla’s infotainment screen. You can check out some of the video demos below:

Support for Android games comes after the Tesla Android Project recently gained multitouch support, which opened the door for many new experiences and features.
The Tesla Android Project started off as a home-brewed workaround developed by Gapiński to port CarPlay over to any Tesla. It works by running a custom build of Android from within Tesla’s built-in internet browser, and it became available to download in May of last year.
Since then, however, the Tesla Android Project has improved significantly and moved beyond being just a workaround to get CarPlay working on a Tesla. Back in January, the Tesla Android Project was updated to Android 13 and gained USB tethering for iOS, DRM support, lossless audio, and more.
