Some of Tesla’s most recently released paint colors have been spotted at the automaker’s Austin, Texas factory, leading some to believe the Giga Berlin exclusive colors could be coming to the U.S.
Tesla’s Midnight Cherry Red and Quicksilver Model Y paint jobs were spotted at Gigafactory Texas ahead of Investor Day, as seen in a video shared by Brad Sloan on Tuesday (via Reddit).
The sighting left some viewers in a Reddit thread wondering if the two paint colors could be coming to Giga Texas soon, though others expressed that they were likely just there for Investor Day.
Currently, Tesla produces its Model Y Quicksilver and Midnight Cherry Red paint jobs at its Gigafactory Berlin, where it has a more advanced paint shop than at other factories.
Although Tesla CEO Elon Musk said “yes” last October to the company offering expanded U.S. paint jobs, he also reiterated that Giga Berlin’s paint shop could produce more colors than the rest of the automaker’s paint shops.
The Quicksilver Model Y began appearing at showrooms across Europe in December, with Midnight Cherry Red and the silver color both gaining delivery estimates in the order configurator recent months.
