SpaceX Seeks Operations Manager and More for Starlink Factory in Austin

As Starlink’s satellite internet continues to become increasingly popular around the world, parent company SpaceX is also expanding roles at the company, as seen in a post on Monday.

SpaceX is hiring an operations manager and a number of other roles, according to the company’s job boards (via @Nathan Owens), as the company plans to open a new Starlink factory in Austin, Texas, as noted from the spring of 2021.

“To meet growing demand for Starlink, we are opening a new Starlink Factory in the Austin area to manufacture Starlink Products and we are looking for a talented Operations Manager to lead initial bring up and long-term growth of the new site,” Tesla says on the Starlink Operations Manager application.

SpaceX is also hiring for multiple engineer and specialist positions, helping to design the company’s environmentally-friendly chemical recycling and more.

In addition to the operation manager role, Owens points out that SpaceX is hiring for a facilities engineer, a sourcing specialist, a factory automation engineer, a chemical engineer for PCB production, a tool and die specialist and an injection molding production supervisor.

Owens also notes that the positions will likely be at SpaceX’s Bastrop, Texas facility, across from Elon Musk’s other venture The Boring Co.

SpaceX’s Starlink reached one million active Starlink subscribers just a few weeks ago, with 3,000 satellites in operational orbital positions.

The company is set to launch more Starlink satellites into orbit today, after yesterday’s planned launch was scrubbed due to unfavorable weather conditions.
