Tesla’s Model Y is one of the best-selling all-electric SUVs out there. While it can certainly traverse some rough terrain, as we saw earlier this week in a video shared by Tesla of the Model Y’s Track Mode being winter-tested in New Zealand, it’s not designed for extreme off-roading.

The off-roading specialists over at delta4x4, however, sought to change that. The company, which deals in off-road tuning and accessories for vehicles, recently shared footage and images of a Model Y they modified to drive off-road.

“We lifted the car 35 mm and mounted fender flares of 30 mm per side. The 20 inch delta4x4-Klassik_B rims with All-Terrain tires fit perfect to the EV. Also we equipped it with a roof rack with helpful accessories,” the company said in the description of a YouTube video showcasing their custom Model Y, which you can check out below:

According to delta4x4, the roof rack they outfitted the Model Y with for “advanced expedition capabilities can “even transport an elk or a wild boar.” It can also accommodate a roof tent.

The company retrofitted their Model Y for optimum off-road performance, going so far as to include a top-of-the-line solution for additional lightning with a PIAA S-RV 40-inch LED Light Bar and four PIAA 550 high-powered LED headlights.

delta4x4’s modification’s included a newly developed Model Y lift kit that can be had for about €900 ($960 USD), 20-inch Classic B wheels and tires with collision protection rings mounted on Continental Cross Contact ATR 265/45R20 that start at about €4,500 ($4,800), a €4,760 ($5,077) widened design, the roof rack that costs €2,900 ($3,093) for the roof rack, and a combined €2,700 ($2,880) for all of the PIAA LED lights.

All in all, it would cost around €15,760 ($16,810) to retrofit a Model Y with all of these off-road modifications.

Earlier this year, we also saw the Chinese car show YiChe develop their own off-road Tesla Model Y, which even featured a roll cage.
