Cathie Wood is ‘Excited’ to See What Elon Musk Does with Twitter

Billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk is set to buy Twitter after all, and some investors have stated their interest and excitement in seeing what he does with the company.

ARK Invest CEO and CIO Cathie Wood says she’s “excited” to see what Elon Musk will do with the acquisition of Twitter, adding that it could be exactly what the platform needs, according to Yahoo Finance.

“I am kind of excited to see what Elon will do,” said Wood in an interview on Thursday. “I actually think he will work closely with [Twitter Founder] Jack Dorsey and maybe open up the ecosystem, take away the censorship, make it much more transparent, and I think add more value to the ecosystem.”

Musk filed a letter with the Delaware Chancery Court this month, seeking to proceed with the $44 billion Twitter deal, expected to close by October 28.

The Tesla and SpaceX head almost cancelled the deal due to a lack of transparency surrounding spam accounts on Twitter, and Wood thinks Musk may help clean up things like this on the platform.

“I think there is a lot of wisdom out there,” Wood said. “We are kind of sick of the nonsense that we see on some of these social media platforms and Twitter. I think Musk is going to give us more tools to filter out the nonsense and get right down to business.”

Musk said the acquisition of Twitter would allow for the creation of the ‘X’ app, an everything app similar to WeChat in China, some suspect.
