Tesla Could Make ‘Joe Mode’ Quieter, Says Musk

Tesla’s “Joe Mode” is commonly used for long drives to create fewer disruptions in the cabin, but some say the feature is still too loud to fulfill its purpose.

@Elon Musk said on Sunday that Tesla could release a quieter Joe Mode in future updates. The note came in response to @Tesla Owners Silicon Valley asking if drivers could get a quieter Joe Mode.

Activating Joe Mode makes a Tesla’s alert chimes quieter, though still audible enough to notify the driver when traffic circumstances change.

In a tweet last week, Musk also backed up one Tesla owner who had a service appointment canceled, saying that drivers who get under 24 hours of notice before cancelation should be credited $100.

Tesla has also been releasing the Full Self-Driving (FSD) beta 10.69.2 to users in recent weeks, which Musk previously described as a big update. The automaker also plans to reset the strikes system for drivers, which kicks FSD testers after three safety strikes are detected.

Musk has also said Tesla plans to add automatically adjusting side mirrors in a future update.

Additionally, Tesla’s vehicles are set to receive Starlink cell service with Premium Connectivity plans, in a new partnership between SpaceX and T-Mobile which plans to use the satellite internet to help cover up dead zones.
