Tesla Closes Semi Reservations, Shares More Details on Revamped Website
With the Tesla Semi set to ship next year, the electric automaker has updated the semi truck’s website and share more stats and photos.
Tesla has closed reservations for the Semi, instead adding a button for users to “Get Updates” as seen on the company’s website (via @SawyerMerritt).
The redesigned Semi page includes several new pictures, videos and information on the exterior and interior.
Additionally, Tesla announced updates to the Semi on the page, including that it will have three independent motors instead of four and recover around 70 percent of range in 30 minutes with Tesla’s Semi Chargers. A video also shows the Semi pulling up to a charger and getting ‘plugged in’, plus video of the truck travelling with cargo.

On the page, Tesla writes, “Three independent motors provide instant torque and unmatched power at any speed so drivers can merge safely and keep pace with traffic. Accelerate from 0-60 mph in 20 seconds, fully loaded, and maintain highway-level speeds even up steep grades.”
The Tesla Semi has been spotted throughout the past few years, making appearances at many of the automaker’s events.
The Semi was also spotted in Palo Alto, California earlier this year, and multiple sightings have taken place at Tesla’s Nevada Gigafactory.
The Tesla Semi is expected to have 500 miles of range upon first shipping. Earlier this year, Tesla was awarded a patent for self-inflating tires for the Semi.
