Tesla Rolls Out New Self Diagnostics Feature for Service Appointments
A new “Diagnostics” feature available in the Tesla mobile app automatically scans your car for faults and informs you if service is required when scheduling an appointment for specific service categories (via @tesla_adri).
The new feature was spotted in the source code for Tesla’s iOS app a few weeks ago, but it hadn’t been spotted in action until now.
I finally saw the new "self diagnostics" feature in action, which @Tesla_App_iOS and I discovered in the source code of the app a few weeks back.

Diagnostics can be triggered if you schedule a service appointment for specific categories. Once your Tesla runs diagnostics, it will tell you what problems, if any, it found and will give you the option to schedule service to fix them.
Tesla owners can’t run standalone diagnostics like a health and wellness check on their car — they can only be triggered automatically by the system.
The new feature goes to show that Tesla’s electric vehicles (EVs) really are computers on wheels. Your Tesla’s onboard system can now even tell what’s wrong with it in many cases.
According to @tesla_adri, Tesla has also added a silent recall to inspect the damper of the electric trunk.
Earlier this week, Tesla added the ability to set customizable rates for charging at work in the mobile app. As of earlier this month, Tesla owners can also pair the mobile app with their Wall Connector at home.
