Tesla Starts Sending Invites for 2022 Annual Meeting of Stockholders
Tesla is now sending out invites for its 2022 annual stockholders’ meeting, according to @WholeMarsBlog. The meeting is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. PT on Thursday, August 4, at Tesla’s Gigafactory in Austin, Texas.
Tesla revealed last month that some shareholders will be able to attend this year’s meeting in person. In comparison, last year’s annual shareholder meeting on October 7, 2021, was an all-online affair.
The company is selecting a “limited number” of attendees for the in-person event through random draws. If selected, Tesla is asking shareholders via email to provide their government-issued ID for a ticket to the event.

“ln order to confirm your eligibility to attend the event in person and obtain your admission ticket, please respond to this email within 48 hours of the sent timestamp with a legible and complete color copy of your government issued identification,” the email reads, as shared by @ShaylanStein on Twitter.
Tesla is also sending out emails to shareholders who have been picked to attend the event at Giga Texas but haven’t provided adequate proof of stock ownership, asking them to promptly furnish the required documentation to be eligible for attendance.

For those who aren’t chosen to attend the meeting in person, it will still be live-streamed on the web. You can join the 2022 Tesla annual meeting of shareholders virtually by clicking this link.
The electric vehicle (EV) maker last month filed for a 3-for-1 common stock split, which it will put to a vote at this year’s shareholder meeting. Investors, attending both online and in-person, will also be informed about and asked to vote on other agenda items.
Tesla last week reported a solid delivery count of 254,695 vehicles for the second quarter. The company has also enjoyed impressive year-over-year growth, but competition in the EV space is heating up.
Volkswagen, one of Tesla’s chief rivals, believes the latter is “weakening” and is under the impression it can overtake the company in global EV sales by 2025. Given all of that, Tesla’s 2022 shareholder meeting is shaping up to be quite an interesting event.
