The Design head has been with Tesla since 2008, overseeing designs and design changes for the Model S, Model 3, Model X and Model Y, as well as for the upcoming Roadster, Semi and Cybertruck.

On the podcast, von Holzhausen discusses a range of topics, including Tesla’s future debut of the Cybertruck, the Model S steering yoke and a range of other related topics.

Von Holzhausen points out that few people look forward to going to a dealership to purchase a vehicle, emphasizing a point that Feresten makes about how easy it was to test drive a Tesla when taking his wife into a Tesla store.

He also chatted about the Cybertruck and the broken glass incident, the development of the new Roadster, and also touched on product design, replying how he wasn’t excited about anything coming from Apple, for example.

In addition, von Holzhausen talks about workarounds like not using a key for Tesla’s vehicles, as well as how the automaker finds other convenient shortcuts to simplify certain designs.

In the past, von Holzhausen has also talked with Chinese media about a Tesla design center.
