One of the many benefits of electric vehicles (EVs) is the ability to improve them over time through over-the-air (OTA) software updates, like the one that is just now rolling out to Tesla customers in China for the Lunar New Year.
Tesla China’s 2022.2.1 Lunar New Year software update began rolling out to customers on Thursday, as shared in photos by @42how_ and earlier shared by @Teslascope.
The update includes a number of new features, including the ability to change your car color, improvements to navigation and the driving recorder, as well as the additions of Car KTV (TeslaMic) and Netease Cloud music.

Earlier this month, it was found that Tesla plans to roll out a maps update for China, the U.S. and Canada, though it’s not immediately clear when.
Tesla also unveiled its Gift Basket for the 2022 Lunar New Year this month, including a few decorative bowls, chopsticks and a handful of enamel pins celebrating the holiday.
Tesla also launched an Unlimited Supercharger gift package in China, which lets owners charge for free from January 26 to February 8.
Last year, Tesla’s Model Y was the best-selling electric SUV in China, with both Tesla’s Model 3 and Y units leading insurance registrations amongst luxury cars in China.
Just this week, Tesla’s Model 3 and Y units received the highest ratings possible in China’s Health Index.
