Tesla ‘Cabin Overheat Protection’ Now Shows in the App with 2021.44.5
Tesla released its 2021.44.5 software update earlier this month, and a new screenshot shows that the update includes extra information on the main screen of the app.
A screenshot of the Tesla app’s main screen on Tuesday shows notifications and controls for Cabin Overheat Protection, showing that the feature is active (via Reddit).
While the user that shared the screenshot originally turned on the option for notifications back last month, the notifications only actually began appearing upon the car’s update to 2021.44.5.

Others in warmer climates noted that they would be receiving this notification all the time, though users can, fortunately, toggle the notifications for the feature on or off using the notification settings in the app.
Tesla’s 2021.44.5 update also includes Driver Profiles, Driver Door Unlock Mode, Enabled CCS adapter charging mode for Canadian drivers, and an additional menu for calibrating your seat.
Earlier this month, Tesla also announced other cold-weather improvements that will start coming standard even with entry-level Model 3 units.
Another update to the Tesla app just yesterday, now lets insurance policy holders start and manage claims directly through the app’s insurance page.
The Tesla Model 3 and Model Y have also become the most popular luxury cars in the U.S., beating out traditional gas cars in sales from January to October of this year, according to Experian data.
