Tesla Website Confirms Free Cold Weather Upgrades For Entry Model 3
After Tesla added heated rear seats and a heated steering wheel to its stock, entry-level Model 3, the company has officially confirmed that newly-delivered Model 3 units in the rear-wheel-drive (RWD) and Standard Range Plus configurations will also include the cold-weather upgrade features.
Tesla’s Model 3 RWD and Standard Range Plus units that were delivered on or after November 1 now include a free heated steering wheel and heated rear seats, according to Tesla’s support page (via @Tesla_Adri).
On Tesla’s support page, the company writes that vehicles delivered before November 1 are eligible to receive an upgrade with the features, though it lists that the vehicle must be a Model 3 RWD or a Standard Range Plus.

In Canada, the in-app purchase for heated steering wheel and rear seats dropped in price from $400 CAD to $270 CAD, as noted by Genevieve B. on Facebook.
For those in the U.S., the price drop for heated steering wheel and rear seats has dropped from $300 USD to $200 USD.
Tesla Model 3 units with heated steering wheels only began delivering in the U.S. as recently as February of this year, but rumors from last month hold that Tesla may also begin delivering Model 3 units in Europe with heated steering wheels soon.
Tesla’s China-built Model 3 units also gained the heated steering wheel feature late last year, in addition to the Tesla Model Y adding the feature too.
Canada also gained Tesla Model Y units with the heated steering wheel earlier this year, after debuting in Model Y units in China first.
