Entry Tesla Model 3 Now Gets Heated Steering Wheel and Heated Rear Seats for Free

Tesla continues to make updates across its vehicles on Thursday evening. So far we’ve seen the Model Y get a $1,000 USD price increase in the U.S., while the same car in China gets updated with more range but slower acceleration.

Now, the entry Model 3 gets its own update, as it finally gets a heated steering wheel and heated rear seats as a standard feature, matching the Model Y.

For the longest time, entry Model 3 owners with rear-wheel drive models did not get a heated steering wheel or heated rear seats. Tesla made these customers pay extra for them through an in-app purchase.

But according to an update on Tesla’s website, it now shows all Model 3 trims include heated seats (all 5 seats) and heated steering wheel (via Reddit). Those living in colder climates and Canada will appreciate these features now as standard.

The entry Model 3 still lacks included fog lights, floor mats and premium audio, as these are included with dual-motor versions of the car.

This isn’t the first time the entry Model 3 has gained a heated steering wheel as a standard feature. Tesla Model 3 owners in China saw the feature added last December, when the Model Y debuted in the country. Looks like it finally lands as standard here nearly a year later.
